Last of Pics- Pool, Napping, and Ready for Dinner with Daddy

More Shore Pics- Aiden in the Ocean

Catching up...and our 1st (mini) family vacation!

Well it's been a long time since I wrote, but not to much has been going on. July seemed to went by very quick. We celebrated Keith's 32nd birthday by going to NYC with a few friends, the week before, to see Paul McCartney (who-else of course!) and then him and I went out to dinner & see the new Harry Potter movie on his actual day. Alison's schedule also changed a bit, where it's more flexible and gives her more time with Aiden.

In August, Alison ventured single parenthood for a little under a week, while Keith went to band camp. All in all, it was a success. August turned into a crazy learning month for Aiden. He has learned to crawl, pull himself up on everything....and I mean everything (including the crib), walk around furniture, and eat big people food. Needless to say, we're realizing our life is changing quickly into babyproofing everything, but we're also realizing how precious time is and how quickly it goes by. Hard to believe, but our little boy is not so much a baby now, he turned 9 months old on August 20th. We had his check up on Thurs and he's a very healthy boy, developing right on track (well apparently right on track, except for when it comes to teeth....poor kid still has none!). He was 28 3/4 inches (which was 55%) and 20.5lbs (which was 45%. The doctor was very happy to see that his weight has caught up to his height and that he has done well gaining weight the last 2 check ups. Now he doesn't go back till November for his 1 yr check up- I still can't believe that :(

We also left Thursday for our first (mini) family vacation. We went down to Wildwood, NJ for 3 nights/4 days. Of course, like the last time we went to the shore it rained, but honestly we were very lucky. The forecast was very bleak on Thursday, but it turned out to be pretty good. It was gorgeous on Thursday and we took Aiden up on the boardwalk just to see all the lights and watch his reactions- those big blue eyes were just open wide taking in everything. Then Friday, which was the worse day of the trip, it rained a lot, but we did have a few hours of no rain and we rode over to Cape May and walked around for a while.

Saturday we took Aiden to the beach and he loved it. He got his hands and feet right in the sand and started playing (Now you know this is love because Keith nor I are big sand people). We then took him into the ocean and he just smiled and talked the whole time. In fact, when the waves retreated he wanted to walk further into the water. He wouldn't even look at the camera because he just wanted to be in the water. We then took him back to the pool and again love it. We were having him "swim" and jump up and down in the water. He didn't want to get out, but we had to drag him out because the pool kid was shivering and sooo cold. Then that night we took him back up to the boardwalk and put him on the Merry Go Round (the only ride he could be one). He kept giggling the whole time. Needless to say, he got a good nap and night's rest that day. Sunday we did a quick tour of Wildwood (stopping by the places Daddy use to hang at) and then headed home. Even though the weather wasn't the best, it was great time together as a family and wonderful memories!
