Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Aiden Edward!

It's true what they say, life goes by way to quickly. I've found that when you have kids that speed takes on double time. It's hard to believe we are ending the month of November and Thanksgiving is around the corner, but worse yet that our Sweet Little Baby Boy Aiden turned 2 today- November 20th. I wonder where the time has gone.

Aiden is having a fun filled extravaganza birthday weekend! We took him to the Strausburg RailRoad and did a Day Out with Thomas. Aiden absolutely loved it- from the characters to the train ride he was so excited. Then on his birthday we had a nice family day- opening up gifts (and Mommy went overboard again) and then meeting Santa. Santa was not as big of a hit this year- Aiden was so unsure of him and in the end cried, but we did get a picture before the tears flowed. He will be celebrating his birthday with his Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, and Cousins on Thanksgiving.

Below are some pictures of his birthday and Thomas.

We want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!

OCtober 2010

October has been a busy month for the Giosas...but we had some fun too. In Mid October, we met up with our good friends the Grahams who have 2 kids- Ava (who's 5) and Colin (who's 18 months) at Highland Orchards. For those of you who are local, it's no Linvilla Orchards. We let the kids run out some energy and the we went pumpkin picking.

On Halloween, we met up with the Grahams again to go Trick or Treating. We went to their neighborhood in Glenmoore since our neighbor is boring and many people don't go out. We had a great time with them and their neighbors were all out and so nice & inviting. Kevin hooked a wagon up to his tractor to tote us all around. Aiden & Colin loved it and was their favorite part.

A week long vacation in OBX...or so we thought!

It's hard to believe that summer is over, kids are back in school, and fall is around the corner. It just never seems to amaze me how quick time passes. August has been a busy month for us- Keith was away for 4 days at Band Camp with O'Hara High School and then that weekend he went to Ohio for 3 days to play some gigs. Aiden and I seem to manage pretty well just the two of us, but we both were happy to have him home.

Also the last Saturday of August, we left for a week long vacation to Outer Banks, NC. We went down with Keith's close friend Frank and his girlfriend Nicole. We had fabulous weather....that was until Thursday when Hurricane Earl hit. Don't get me wrong, Thursday was still a gorgeous day, but we found out at 10am the island declared an emergency evacuation for all visitors, but we'll get back to that later.

Everyday down there was pure sunshine (not a cloud in the sky) and around 90 degrees. The sun was pretty hot. We ventured to the beach almost everyday, but we also had a pool at the house. Aiden was fantastic from the drive down (we were a bit nervous as we've never gone more then 2 hrs with him) to being in a strange environment, to sleeping. We had brought a few options for the sleeping situation, in the end, we went with the pack n play (most like his crib) and the first night was tough- he cried going to sleep, but after that he napped and slept fine.

He really enjoyed himself there- he loved the sand (it took him about 10 mins to be okay with it), loved the ocean and was amazed to see people with their dogs in the water, and he was jumping in the pool.We had a deck, which Aiden loved being out side to eat an played up there after dinner.

All in all, it was a great week....till Thursday! We had heard Weds about the Hurricane and they were evacuating the lower parts of the island, but we stay in Corolla, which is about an hour to hr and half north (almost in VA). We even were told by the lifeguard and the pool guy that it was doubtful we would have to evacuate, but we would have some heavy rains, high winds, and some flooding. So we mentally prepared for the hurricane....then we find out Thurs all visitors had to leave- really puts a damper on your vacation. We had to pack up everything (in fact it felt like we were coming home with more then we went down with) and then sat on the island for 3 hrs!! It took us that long to go 17 miles, so that just really made the evacuation a bit more frustrating. All in all, once we got off the island, the ride home was great (no traffic, which might not have been the case if we left on Sat as scheduled) and Aiden again was awesome! I'm so grateful for having a husband who dealt with all the frustrations of driving AFTER packing the car quickly and a very resilient toddler.

In the ends, we have made the most of our extra two days at home and I love that I still have another day till the dreadful return to work from vacation :) Enjoy the pics!

Happy Labor Day!
