FAMILY SHOT
Welcome to the end of July- it's been a busy month with 4th of July celebration, our week long vacation to Outer Banks, Keith's birthday, and a month full of terrible 2's.
We're hoping everyone is enjoying their summer and has been trying to beat the heat. We have kept cool by the pool. We spent the forth of July going to the parade and meeting up with Marc, June and their kids Natalie and Marc. Aiden loves hanging out with his cousins and he loved the parade....as long as there was no firetrucks waling on their hornes. It never bothered him in years past, but this year it got to him.
We followed the 4th of July up by ending to the shore that Sat for our week long vacation to Outer Banks, NC. We loved it there and stayed up in Corolla. Unlike last year, we actually had NO hurricanes and made it through the full week- hooray! We went with our good friends Frank & Nicole, and Kevin and Nicole and their two kids Ava and Colin. Aiden loved having friends to play with all week (and so did Mommy and Daddy). He also loved the sand and the ocean this year and had no fears with either. Our week was full of sunshine and was just relaxing and gorgeous. It went by two quick, but we had a lot of fun and grateful for the laughs and time spent with wonderful friends.
Yesterday, (okay really all weekend long) we celebrated Keith's 34th birthday. Sat, Keith and I went to Atlantic City to see a comedian Daniel Tosh and get some great dinner. Then Sunday (his actual birthday) we did a family day going to the movies and Aiden and I made him dinner.
Lastly, it appears we are now learning terrible 2's....hardcore. Our sweet, pretty obedient boy left us somewhere along the way and has turned into a boy who cries or gets mad (sometimes hits or yells) when he doesn't get his way. The last week has been definitely the trying part of parenting. He has never acted like this before so it's getting the best of us and making us exhausted...not to mention he also has learned the art of prolong bedtime. Everyone says it's a phase (as a parent you learn to hate that phrase), this is one I hope passes quickly and our sweet obedient boy comes back soon.
