Summer Days

So here we are already in August. We leave for vacation in two weeks.  Aiden goes back to school in 3 weeks. And JP starts preschool in 5 weeks. Time really does fly by the older you get.

Our summer has been busy enjoying the warmer weather and just having fun after a long winter and spring of snow and recovery.

The kids have spent a lot of time playing with their water table and pools. They love being outside and in the water.

I also recently signed them up for swim lessons. The place we are going is all about getting the kids comfortable in the water (like going under and getting your face wet) and learning to swim and be safe in a pool.

Aiden and JP are in the same class, level 1, as neither one of them like to put their face in the water, even though they both love being in the pool. This week (week 2) they both went out of their comfort zone and did it. I was so impressed and hope this place truly teaches them how to swim.

We have hit the parks on cooler days. One of our local parks have a water section with sprinklers. It was a hot day and so I threw caution to the wind and let them play in it with their clothes.

We have done a few day trips with the kids as well. We took them to the movies in July to see Inside Out, which we all loved.

We also spent a day at Strausburg Rail Road. We first did the tour of the museum.  The kids loved seeing the big old trains.
They were fascinated by all the gadgets and equipment it takes to run a train.

And then we took a ride on the rails. It was JPs first time and he loved it.

We also did our annual summer trip to Dutch Wonderland. This has become a tradition since Aiden was 2 and I just love it. The kids have a blast there.

This year was so fun. Aiden's fear of rides were less and he wanted to do more( like the motion rides aka space ship)! And JP was old enough/tall enough to do more rides... Like the roller coaster.

The day was hot, but we all had a great time and some fun memories.

We also went to the Please Touch Muesum. The kids always love it there and the experience to explore.

We also celebrating Daddy's 38th Birthday on July 24th!

Keith and I have also have been able to go out without the kids a bit this summer. We have had some good times with our friends. (sorry to our other friends we got to enjoy as adults, we didn't do pics!)

JP is recovering great! His doctor was happy with his bone regeneration and healing. He doesn't go back to see the Doc till November now! But still doing PT twice a week.

I can't believe my next post will be about the start of school (unless I can get a vacation one done!)

But all in all we have had a fun and busy summer!
