End of Summer Days...Into School Days

It's true what they say, the days are long, but the years are fast. We have officially wrapped up the end of summer 2015 and moved into school days.

Summer was great, The boys have enjoyed many pool days (yes the small inflatable kind) this summer, as well as took swim lessons, which I talked about in a recent post.

We also have had two trips to our favorite amusement park- Dutch Wonderland. It was a great experience this year! We saw less fear in Aiden and new experience for both boys.  This second trip, Aiden rode the big roller coaster both times...once with me and once with Keith! It was so fun to sit next to both kids during the rides and see their joy and hear them express their experience.

We ended our summer with our annual trip to Outer Banks a couple weeks ago. The weather was fairly good this year. The sun was hot, but each day there was a nice breeze. It rained one afternoon and cloudy another.

On our way down, we finally stopped at Grave Diggers home (a well known monster truck). Boys loved it and did a little ridding of their own.

The boys loved the beach and building "sand castles". The both also enjoyed collecting seashells and had a good collection by the end of the week.

They enjoyed the pool too and it was nice that it was the first time where both boys were more independent (with swimmies). Aiden was even jumping in on his own.

The boys favorite part was making smores on the grill and getting ice cream- glad we drove all that way-lol!

All in all it was another great vacation with our great friends and much needed time off after the last several months.

And just as soon as vacation started, it was over and Aiden started back to school the Monday we came home. He is now a big 1st grader!

He's loves it- he's excited because he's in school all day, gets to eats lunch there, a handful of his kindergarten friends are in his class, and (the biggie) he has two recess each day. Mommy's heart broken a little, but as always, he has done amazing. I'm so excited to see what this year has in store for my smart boy.

And then Jonathan started pre school today!

It's bittersweet to send him to school as he's my baby, but also with all he's been through. I just want to keep him little :) I'm also nervous too- he is tenacious and spirited, so I hope they're ready.

He has two great teachers and did well today at orientation. He loved playing with the "new" toys and sat quietly during circle time and listen intently during story time. I was impressed! I'm hoping he does well Friday, when they take him out of the car at carline and he realizes Daddy isn't coming in.  I'm excited to see him learn and grow this year!!

The boys started their second session of swim class today too. Aiden moved up a level and JP is doing his first class without his Mom or brother with him. They both did very well and continue to get more comfortable in the water.

Next up- soccer for both starts Sat! Fall is definitely starting to get into full swing for us!
