Sammie gets married

One family event we've attended is Alison's cousin Samantha recently getting married this past Saturday. It's was a great wedding and a beautiful day. Congrats Mr & Mrs Maffei.

Life's been crazy

It's been forever since the last post, but life has been very busy over the last month.  We have attended a variety of family and friend parties, so we're exhausted. Alison started a new PERM job. It's 15mins from home in Exton doing medical staffing for the army & airforce and so far she loves it. Keith has wrapped up another school year and has taken on a new gig working as a Dueling Piano 1-2 days per week, this is in addition to his band gigs.

We had some major family milestones- Aiden turned 6 months old on May 20th and Keith and Alison celebrated their 5 yr wedding anniversary on May 22nd. Aiden continues to grow and get bigger each day. He's now 17.5 lbs and 26 3/4 inches long. He's sitting up on his own and for longer periods now and starting to scoot a little bit, so our lives will soon change with baby gates and child proofing. He's so much fun and has us laughing all the time, except when he decides sleeping is overrated. We're working on the cry it out method, hard, but effective.

Aiden talks part 2

Here's Aiden doing some talking...

Learning New Things..

Sorry it's been a while, but it's been hard to keep up with the blog between working & spending time with Aiden. It's hard to believe that our Baby Boy will be 6 months old in a couple weeks....and that we'll be married 5 yrs! Time really does fly.

We had a nice Easter and hope everyone else did too. I posted some pics of Aiden's 1st Easter.

These days Aiden is learning and doing new things everyday. He's so close to sitting on his own, he can do it for a few mins before falling to a side or on his stomach. He rolls over all the time, in fact he is never on his belly anymore because he rolls over as soon as we put him on it.

Recently he had some new first. We started veggie feedings this week. We've been mixing it in his cereal, so he doesn't even seem to notice yet. We also started giving him a sippy cup and he's doing pretty well. He loves water, but still can't completely master holding the cup up high enough to get the water out.

And most exciting....for Keith. Aiden has said his first word, Dada. Of course, he doesn't realize it means Keith, but he says it all the time, as well as a bunch of other babble, which is really cute, unless it's 6:45am on the weekend. We're just so amazed how much he's doing.

Aiden has finally adjusted to Mommy not being home during the day. The first week was rough and he still has off days, but has enjoyed his time with Daddy and Nonni.

More Pics...

And here's the truth about how the Easter Egg Dying went down. Sammie and I did the work, while Rob slept on his Daddy and Aiden hung out with his Grandpop.

Aiden's and Rob's 1st Easter Egg Dying

My Aunt was insisted that Aiden and her grandson (my cousin's son) Rob dye easter eggs. It was a tradition my sibilings, cousins, and I had at my grandmothers, and now she wanted to continue it.

A day of First

Well Aiden has had a big week, filled with first things. On Thursday, Aiden rolled over for the first time. He was playing on his stomach and before I knew it, he rolled on to his back. I almost missed it! Of course, he hasn't done it again since- typical kid. Also, for the first time, he took out his pacifier, played with him and put it back into his mouth the right way- now only if he would do that at night. He also held his bottle on his own, although it' still a little awkward for him. Lastly, and pretty much most disgustingly, Aiden was able to stick his foot in his mouth for the first time. For some reason, Keith and I found this so funny and all we could do is laugh. After this exhausting day of first, Aiden had a great sleep.

Sadly on Saturday, Aiden got his first cold. His poor little nose keeps running, his eyes are water and he keeps coughing. It's so sad....for Mommy. He also had his first rash too. We're so excited to watch our baby boy grow and continue to navigate and learn. It's so exciting!!

Also, in other good news, Alison has found a job. It's a contract corporate recruiter position with a company in King of Prussia. They are still seeking a perm candidate, but luckily Alison will be considered for that too and has a leg up on the competition as she'll be working there. So here's hoping it goes perm in a few months. Alison is very excited and thinks this is a great company, but is also sad that she won't be spending every day with her baby.

Aiden is growing tall, but gaining weight slowly

We had Aiden's 4 month check up today and he continues to be a health boy. We were astonished to learn that he only put on 2 lbs in the  last month. He now weighs 13lbs 4oz (he is in the 15% for his weight), but was 25 1/2 inches long (70% for his height).

They say over the next few months we should get more giggles and he should start rolling over and sitting on his own. He's very close to the rolling over from his stomach to his back; he almost did it the other day. He also tries from his back to stomach, but only manages to get on his side.

Aiden has also attempted rice cereal. We started it a week ago (don't tell the dr) and it is doing pretty good with it. Somedays he really enjoys it, and others he just wants to play. So we'll see how it goes.

In other news, the job search for Alison still continues. It was quite for a few weeks, but the last week has been busy with phone interviews and a few live interviews. So please keep praying that she finds something soon.

See some of Aiden's big moments

Well Aiden has had some big moments this last month. He now can sit up fully supporting his head, but not only that he tries to pull himself up to stand (all the time). He also takes steps.

The newest experience Aiden has had is rice cereal. He's still not sure, but eats a little more each day.

For videos on his experience, check out Keith's website at

Aiden's First Sport

Aiden is already testing his sports ability. About a week ago, we gave him a soft soccer ball that his Aunt June & Uncle Marc gave him for Christmas. He immediately started kicking the ball, so today we video taped it.

A new baby cousin

Aiden is finally older then someone...LOL! His Baby cousin Rob arrive today, February 16, 2009(Rob's mom is Alison's cousin Samantha). After a few days of being coaxed out into the world, Rob arrived pretty quickly at 8:58am  (Alison is jealous Sam only pushed for 50 mins). He weights 8lbs 2oz and is 21 inches long. He is absolutely adorable and so tiny compared to our chunky monkey.

Happy Birthday Baby Rob! And Congrats Sammie and Rob! Lots of love.

Happy 3 months Aiden!

It's hard to believe that our baby boy, Aiden will be 3 months on February 20th. It's amazing how quickly they change in such a short time. He continues to get bigger each day and he is becoming so interactive these days. He loves to sit up now and we bought him a support chair which will help him, he's still a little to young, but will be in it by the end of the month I would imagine. He's starting to "play" and it's so much fun. He's recently discovered toys and he grabs them or bats at them. His  favorite seems to be the elephant and his links rings. It also appears that he could be a lefty. He tends to favorite that side when reaching for things, although it might be a little to soon to tell.

We also have him on the floor to play with his play-yard, which he loves now. He also sits upright in his swing and tries to talk to us. The other night we put him in the high chair for the first time while we ate and he seem to like it. It's almost sad to think how big he is now, when we see some of the things he has outgrown, but at the same time it's great to get coos and smiles from him all the time. Just shows you time really does fly. Here are some pics of him playing.

In other news, Alison continues her job search, but is also loving the extra time home with Aiden. She has a few prospectives, but nothing definitive, so please continue to pray that something will come a long.

Happy 2 months, Aiden!

Well on Tuesday (Jan 20) Aiden turned 2 months old. It's been an  interesting and exciting 2 months. He has changed so much; he has lost all his initial hair and has new hair growing in. We can't decide if it's brown or blond as it changes in the light, but it looks like he'll have blue eyes.  He now smiles a lot and loves to coo and talk, generally his word is "ah-goo". He is now into a routine, feeding every 3 hours during the day and sleeping from 10:30pm to 7am. We now have play times and read everyday, which Aiden is really enjoying.

Last week, Aiden had his first official play date. Alison's friend Monica came to visit with her 7 month old daughter Kayla. Although they visited before, Aiden was more interactive with them.

This week has been pretty eventful in the Giosa household. On Sunday, Jan 18th, Aiden was baptized at 1st Presbyterian Church of West Chester. Afterwards, we had our families back for a small celebration and luncheon.

On Monday, Alison was scheduled to return back to work, but she returned only to be laid off. It wasn't a complete shock as her colleagues were laid off a couple of weeks ago, but still a bit of a shock. We thought she might have some protection being on leave. So Alison has spent the remainder of the week job searching and interviewing. It's bitter sweet. Alison is enjoying some extra time at home with Aiden, but is sad as she liked her job and hates the idea of looking for a new one.

On Thursday (Jan 22), Aiden had his 2 month check up. He is now 11lbs 2 oz and is 23 inches long. The Doctor says he looks very healthy and is progressing right on track. He did receive 2 shots for immunization.  He is not scheduled to be back to the doctor's until 4 months now. By then he might be rolling over. Crazy!

Well here are some recent pics, enjoy and we'll continue to keep you posted on our life.

Aiden is already 7 weeks old

It's hard to imagine that our little boy is already 7 weeks old, it's exciting and sad how quickly time goes. He had a Drs Appt on the 20th and was 21 1/2 inches and 9lbs and 2 oz. Dr said he's a very healthy boy.

His sleeping and eating habits are still all over the place, but he still does very well through the night with one feeding during the night. We're still working on a routine and him learning on how to put himself to sleep, hopefully in time it will improve.

He's been having lots of first the last couple weeks. He is now smiling and cooing a lot. He tries to hold his bottle and is enjoying reading books. He even has his first cold now.

Here are so pics that Daddy took of Aiden while we were playing with him.

Aiden's First Christmas

Aiden had a wonderful first Christmas. He received lots of presents from all his Aunts & Uncles, as well as grandparents. He even met Santa (at the Exton Mall and at Nonni and Poppy's house). He spent Christmas Eve with the Giosa's and even got to meet Daddy's Aunt & Uncle, as well as his cousins and their kids. His most favorite part of the day was spending time with his cousins Marc & Natalie. He loved sitting on Natalie's lap and talking to her.

He spent Christmas Day with the Donnelly's. It was the first time he went to his Aunt Debbie's house and listened as she played all the musical instruments she got at Hallmark. He even got to spend time sitting with Grammie, Aunt Stacey, Pop, and Uncle Bill.

The week after Christmas, Aiden had lots of visitors. He met lots of Mommy and Daddy's friends, as well as their kids.

He hopes everyone had a great Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
